Product photography for Pomegranate Communications
In addition to creating several of the books shown below, I expanded into product photography in recent years. The images I created for Pomegranate elevate marketing efforts and put a spotlight on the beauty and quality of the books. We won the PubWest silver for this incredible collection of Hansen’s work, for which I had the great honor of working with curator Scott Shields and my editor on the project, Robyn Crummer-Olson.
As a life drawing student I always had a fondness for Thiebaud’s brushwork and economy—from a simple line of cobalt around a glass edge to the distortions in his landscapes. It was a thrill to celebrate his 100th birthday by designing around his beautiful works.
Working with Robert Bissell to bring his animal spirits to the page in a beautiful collection was a delightful experience during a time of transition in my world. It was the perfect companion.
I adore when a beloved artist’s earlier works can teach me so much more about who they are. I was already an appreciative audience of Diebenkorn’s Ocean Park series, but designing this book taught me that there is so much more to love.
